Krusin' the Capitol

By Nebraska State Senator Lowen Kruse

2004
Post-Election Bonus
November 5, 2004

Hi

The election is over, except for the post mortems. Hmmm. If I remember my Latin, that is after death. Hmmm.

I am alive and well, elected for 'four more years.' The World-Herald does not come near the correct vote count, so for all, near and far, the best number I have is 7,500 for me and 3,300 for Tony FastHorse. So an old lion is faster than a fast horse. His only comment: "I will be back."

This surely the time to say a mighty THANK YOU. So many of you have helped in such a variety of ways these past eight years: stapling signs, receiving signs, putting out signs, taking them up -- a huge chore. Plus consultation, prayer, encouragement, $$$, ideas, and most of all, support for Ruth and me in the emotional and physical energy that this takes. Thank you, thank you.

We are both ready to devote our emotional energy to the task at hand, to learning more about the issues in front of us, more about the interests of our people, and a lot more about which strategies will work and which are simply ra ising dust. I am not against raising dust, but am far more interested in being effective in change.

A small bonus. We have yard signs to recycle. They work for garage sales, church bazaars, etc. and the wires, we just learned, are excellent for quietly propping up peonies and other assorted flowers. A friend and I picked up about 500, of all shapes and sizes. I refuse to let the good steel wire go to a landfill. Scouts could sell them for 50 cents apiece, since they cost us 75 cents. Welcome all inquiries!!

We pray for God's guidance to our people and our leaders, in local, state, national and world responsibilities. We are in it for the long haul and it is evident to me that God is also. We have done a good job of messing up the world, so she has her work cut out. May we be helpful.

Lowen
