SUMMER CAMP:
This summer we would like to encourage the people of Olive Crest to participate in our United Methodist Church Camps. There are camps offered for everyone from Pre-K to Adult to Family camp. This would be a great way to nourish our spirits and those of our children and grandchildren. Scholarships are available because we want everyone to go to camp. Here are some examples of what is available.
Pre- Kindergarten/Kindergarten - PAK (Parent and Kid) Camp.
This is a great way for your child to have their first Christian camping experience with their favorite adult. Mom, Dad, Grandparent, Aunt or Uncle! This is a special time for sharing and learning more about each other, God, and nature.
1st and 2nd Graders - Blast Camp
Come have a BLAST (Big Long Active Sleep over Time) at camp. Bring a parent or other adult shepherd with you and share a camping experience complete with swimming, games, crafts, hikes, campfires, and Bible study.
3rd and 4th Graders - Mission Possible
Have you ever been told that you were too young to do something? That it was impossible for you? If so, this camp is for you!! At camp we make "Mission Impossible" into "Mission Possible". And no matter how big or old you are, you can be a part of it. We will also swim, hike the trails, play games, and enjoy being together. DON'T MISS THESE 3 DAYS OF SUMMER!!
5th and 6th Graders - Cool Christians
EXPLORE living GOD'S WAY through the people of the BIBLE! Be ready for fun, bonding and learning. This is a great camp just for you! No little kids to scream in your ear, no high school kids acting weird, just cool kids like you learning from the Bible, singing, swimming, playing and camping together.
Jr. High Camps - Kingdom Camp
Ever wonder why Jesus walked on the water? Ever wonder just how the Savior felt being born in a stable? Ever think about being a fisherman AND a disciple at the same time? Bring your Bible and we'll look at fascinating stories from the Bible in ways you've never read them before. This isn't just Sunday school it's an adventure!! Come prepared for a great time!!
Sr. High Camps - Road Rules (grades 7-12)
This camp is designed for youth and youth groups. It is modeled on your basic work mission and MTV "Road Rules" agendas. Get your work gloves and Bibles ready! Each day you will receive clues about a work mission agenda. Travel time and goodies will be determined by each group's ability to problem solve. As well as physical and mental labor there will be abundant time for individual and group retreat, reflection, swimming, teamazoid, campfire, music, and processing. We ask churches to send both male and female adults if the group is coed, and at least one adult for every five youth.
