SUMMER CAMP!
This summer we would like to encourage the people of Olive Crest to participate in our
United Methodist Church Camps. There are camps offered for everyone from Pre-K to Adult
to Family camp. This would be a great way to nourish our spirits and those of our
children and grandchildren. Scholarships are available because we want everyone to go
to camp. Below are some more examples of what is available.
Father/Son Camp Out
(3-5th grades) Come enjoy quality father/son bonding time with others at camp. Sleep
in the dorms of A-frames (depending on weather) swim, hike, do crafts, share stories,
have a campfire and grow in faith.
F.R.O.G. Camp
(5-6th grades) Ribbit! Ribbit! Learn to Fully Rely on God! God will guide us on our
faith Journey as we share the experience of meeting life's challenges with faith,
making new friends, swimming, hiking and crafts.
Summer Youth Art Camp
(5-9th grades) This camp will feature three culturally diverse artisans who will
teach five sessions. A show featuring the participants finished pieces will be
scheduled at the end of the Art camp at one of the local United Methodist Churches.
There will be at least on artisan of ethnic background features for each art show.
Space at this camp is limited to 50 participants. The cost of this camp is being
funded completely by a grant, so this is a great opportunity to try your hand at
some different types of arts and crafts.
www.GOD.com
(6-8th grades) DISCOVER the Ancient of Days in the 21st Century. At this camp you will
find hiking, swimming, crafts and lots of new friends as we explore the webs of
the 21st Century.
Puppet Camp
(7-12th grades) A note from Bert & Ernie: Come join us for a week of fun with puppets
(not the old fashioned sock kind!), and a skit to perform at a nearby church.
