Olive Branch Newsletter For July, 2001
Young @ HeartBy Gina Ritter Greetings from YAH! After missing the last two newsletters, partly due to technical problems and partly due to lack of memory it is good to be back. I would like to thank Reverend Michael for having the "faith" to allow the YAH group to coordinate the special Laity Sunday service on June 3rd. While it was a bit intimidating to be in charge of the service, from what I heard from the congregation everyone enjoyed it and got a lot out of it. I would like to thank everyone who worked with us to be a part of the service. Brenda Jones, Liz Newell and myself performed monologues; Jeff Staben and Kelly Walker read scripture; Angela Kroeger, Brenda Jones and myself sang a special song; Ted Hennig and Kathy Peterson provided accompaniment; and Matt Jones did the children's moment. Apologies and thank you to anyone I may not have written down, you did help, so don't feel left out because I can't remember your name at the moment! Special thanks to Harry Vacek and the SPRC for the Thank-You card. The card was adorable (meow!) and we really appreciate it. We are gearing up for our fall drama production for the Olive Crest Day Care. This year we will be able to offer something a little different for your viewing enjoyment. We have selected four shorter plays (rather than one long one) for this year's fundraiser. Some are serious, some are more comedic, some are thought-provoking, and all are inspirational. Our current cast includes: Brenda Jones, Angela Kroeger, Barb Hansen, Reverend Michael, Diane Davis, Liz Newell, Kelly Walker, Arlene Sanford, Hazel Burgess and myself. As the date approaches and we make more preparations, we will keep you posted as to our progress. Well, that's all we have at the moment, as the summer will be pretty full with the practices for the drama fundraiser. For those of you interested in the Highway Clean-up, we are done with our Spring Highway Clean-up, and our signs are now posted (according to the Nebraska Department of Roads). We are looking at September or October for our next Clean-up, so mark your calendars now! From everyone with Young @ Heart, thank you, and see you at church!
