Olive Branch Newsletter For February 2002

United Methodist Men's News

There will be a meeting, February 11^th, at 7:00 p.m.

We are starting the New Year with the positive outlook that we can grow from our core group to new and better things.

On January 14^th, an election of officers was held. Harry Vacek will be president, Vern Thompson will be vice president, and Marvin Widman will continue as treasurer. No secretary was elected at this time.

Projects for the coming year are as follows:

• February 12: Valentines Dinner
• February 24: Stewardship Lunch
• March 16: St. Patrick's Dinner
• May 18: Spaghetti Dinner
• August 17: Steak Fry
• November 16: Spaghetti Dinner

The United Methodist Men paid for the professional cleaning of the Sanctuary carpet. Their next service project will be buying paint and painting the hallway upstairs on February 16. All you painters get ready to volunteer. They will be working from 9 AM to 1 PM.

If you haven't joined United Methodist Men, now could be the time. We will have a Bible study starting February 11^th that will follow the guidelines of the General Conference of United Methodist Men. The first will be Life's Big Questions. We also have a video of Tom Osborne's speech from the 2001 Congress on United Methodist Men.
