Olive Branch Newsletter For June 2002
ADVENTURES ON THE WEB
By Gabrielle Staben
Here are some useful and fun sites found during Gabbie's adventures on the Internet. If you
know of an interesting web site, e-mail Gabbie at
<office@olivecrest-umc.com>
or call 571-7468.
Lead Safe Omaha Coalition - This is a good place to start if you want
to learn about lead risks in your home. There are several useful links to sites
about lead safety and Super Fund money.
Federal Consumer Information Center - This is the site where you can
find and order government publications. They cover topics such as health, money,
housing, and small business. Most of the publications are free though some require
a small fee. The publications can also be downloaded or read online (saves paper).
I found the information to be wide ranging and interesting, well worth a closer look.
"This site was developed and is maintained by the Federal Consumer Information Center.
It provides links to Federal kids' sites along with some of the best kids' sites from
other organizations all grouped by subject. Explore, learn, have fun and don't forget
to bookmark us!"
